Communicating Communities for Future
Welcome to Communities for Future
Communities for Future (CfF) is an action programme to inspire and enable transformative change at local, community level in response to the climate and ecological emergency.
CfF is the flagship programme of ECOLISE, the European network for community-led initiatives on climate change and sustainability. During 2022, I worked with ECOLISE leading a redesign of the CfF website, managing the monthly newsletter, writing and editing content, producing an annual report, inputting into the strategy development process and providing communications support for events, projects and advocacy campaigns.
I worked as part of an international team of changemakers who are true to their values and take co-creation seriously through sociocratic governance models. This experience challenged me to confront my established ways of working and broadened my understanding of different forms of organisational governance. Communities for Future demonstrates solutions that are already taking place at a small scale across Europe, implemented by people driven by passion, concern and connection, but who confront so many barriers along the way. I am pleased to continue collaborating with ECOLISE to help drive the community-led transformation that the world so urgently needs.
